Abstract

Organizational support significantly influences lecturers' psychological well-being, with findings showing that lecturers who perceive higher support report greater job satisfaction than those with lower support. Statistical analysis reveals a significant influence of
organizational support on job satisfaction, with lecturers experiencing high organizational support scoring higher (Mean = 44.17, SD = 7.65) compared to those with low support (Mean = 41.36, SD = 6.05), as indicated by the independent sample t-test results t(132) = -2.36, p < .05). While institutional backing improves job satisfaction, it does not fully mitigate emotional labour-related strain, suggesting the need for a holistic support approach that integrates structural policies, such as mentorship programs and wellness initiatives, with personalized mental health resources. Emotional labour remains a critical factor, as excessive emotional regulation contributes to stress and potential burnout, underscoring the need for specialised interventions for lecturers. The study highlights the role of institutional culture and leadership style in shaping lecturers' experiences, reinforcing the importance of tailored strategies for
different academic contexts. Future research should delve deeper into these dynamics to refine approaches that enhance lecturers' psychological resilience, job satisfaction, and overall teaching effectiveness.
