Abstract
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Nigerian radio broadcasting presents a paradox of opportunities and challenges. This qualitative study explores AI’s potential to enhance content creation, audience engagement, and operational efficiency in Nigerian radio stations. Using the Diffusion of Innovation theory, this research examines AI adoption in newsrooms, highlighting ethical concerns, such as bias, privacy, and job displacement. The study reveals the need for robust ethical guidelines, regulations, and workforce upskilling to mitigate risks. While AI offers immense potential, its responsible integration is crucial to ensure a positive impact. This research contributes to the understanding of AI’s implications in Nigerian broadcasting, informing strategies for harnessing its benefits while addressing challenges.
