Abstract

The work examines the significance of Erin Ijesa waterfall, as well as its effects from an international perspective. It also discusses the history of Erin Ijesa waterfall as an international tourist center. This is an attempt to provide insight into the contributions of historical sites and tourist sites to Nigeria's economy and the culture of the Erin Ijesa people. The presence of this waterfall has provided job opportunities, security, and access to water, leading to the creation of various water purification factories in Erin Ijesa. This work is argued to be beneficial to scholars, government officials, and policymakers. The work utilized both primary and secondary sources. Secondary data were sourced through an extensive review of the existing literature. Primary data were collected through oral interviews with the people of Erin Ijesa land and its neighboring towns, as well as with visiting tourists. The work concludes that adequate economic and social infrastructure should be provided for the communities surrounding the waterfall to give them a befitting status as a tourist destination.
